TRESemmé Day + Night Hair for the Festive Season

We are currently in the midst of the festive season and with Christmas only a week or so away, I’m sure you’ll be filling up your time with various parties and festivities. That means you’ll need to start thinking up a few new hairstyles to wear to these celebrations. If you read my previous TRESemmé post then you would have seen me recreate one of the looks from the NYFW SS17 show.

I decided to take inspiration from another one of the TRESemmé NYFW hairstyles and alter it slightly to suit my hair type and needs. I’m sharing two looks, one for the day and a slightly more glammed up version for the night. My day look is very loosely based on the Monse personalised wave style. I used a selection of TRESemmé products and down below you’ll be able to follow my steps to help you achieve the same looks for your Christmas party.

It’s best to start with freshly washed hair, so you can layer up the products to achieve the perfect texture for your locks. I lightly cleansed and conditioned my hair with the TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Reverse System. First, use the pre-wash conditioner to soften your hair, follow that up with the shampoo to help keep your hair feeling light and bouncy. I’ve been loving these two products. I’ve noticed my hair appears thicker and fuller and it doesn’t weigh down my super fine hair.

Step 2

First and foremost I liberally apply the TRESemmé Heat Defence Styling Spray all over my hair. This is the most important step! Then using my fingers I work a golf ball sized amount of the TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Mousse into my hair from root to tips. This product does wonders to lift my flat hair. I don’t style my hair without it.

Step 3

Using a large barrel brush, I roughly blow dry my hair to maintain a bit of texture and messiness.

Step 4

We are already onto the last step. Nice and easy! I use my hourglass curling iron, but you can even use a flat iron to create your desired waves/curls. Work with a decent strip of hair and alternate by curling one section clockwise and the next anti-clockwise. Once I’ve curled my entire head I spray with the TRESemmé Firm Hold Hairspray, before fingering and gently working through the curls to break them up, resulting in a messier, looser wave. Voila, all done. Now put on a slick of red lipstick and grab a glass of champagne at that festive lunch.

Step 1 to 4

Using the steps from above I style my hair exactly the same. The only thing I change is that once I’ve applied the TRESemmé Firm Hold Hairspray I don’t loosen the curls as much. I prefer a tighter curl when I wear this evening-time look.

Step 5

For the side sweep – pull all of your hair to one side, to the opposite side to where you part your hair. If you need some extra help keeping your hair over your shoulder so it won’t move during your night out, place a couple of bobby pins just below your ear underneath the start of your curls. My hair is a bit shorter at the moment, so I also place an extra bobby pin at the back just where my hair starts to sweep to the side.

Step 6

Spray some more TRESemmé Firm Hold Hairspray, slip into a sparkly dress and paint the town red with your elegant side swept hair look. My hair is relatively short, but I need to add that this style looks absolutely stunning when your hair is long.

*full disclosure – this is a paid for campaign, however everything mentioned in this post is my own opinion and I firmly stand behind everything I’ve said.
