{REVIEW} INOAR Professional Argan Oil

July 7, 2014

I’m going to be honest. The first thing I noticed and liked about this INOAR hair oil when it was given to me for review was the scent. I’ve read various reviews and all bloggers seem to have a different take on how they describe the smell. I must say that correctly describing scents has never been my strong suit so I instead I’m just going to tell you what I think of whenever I sniff it. Bubblegum. Yes, that’s the first thing that pops into my head whenever I catch a whiff of it. The scent is just incredible. Full stop!

I’m sure you guys are already familiar with what Argan oil is but in case you’re not I’m going to give you a bit of information and probably bore those that already know. Argan Oil is produced from the kernels of the Argania Spinosa tree which is unique to Morocco. Contained within the nut are one to three argan oil–rich kernels. Argan oil is then extracted from the kernels. The thing that impressed me the most about this Argan oil compared to other popular brands (you know which one I’m talking about) is that “Argania Spinosa Oil” is listed as the first ingredient on the list. The FIRST ingredient guys! You know what that means, right? The ingredients with the highest quantities are listed from top to bottom. INOAR do claim to contain a whopping 9% of Argan oil after all (the highest percentage on the market). I guess that’s why INOAR‘s tagline is “The First. The Original. The Only”. This says it all, doesn’t it?

The consistency of this oil is a bit thicker than most hair oils, but on contact with hair it literally melts like butter and disappears into your hair. I have fine, oily hair but yet I’m still able to apply a generous dollop to most of my head and not be left with a greasy mess. I mix the oil into my palms and spread majority of the product from mid-shaft to ends and then apply the remaining bit that’s left on my hands to the crown. I suffer from really bad frizz and flyaways at the top of my head, which is why I like to put a bit of this silky soft oil on the top. I normally do all this before styling (while my hair is still damp) because it provides thermal protection. But it can also be used as a finishing product to really add shine and control frizzies. The miracle of Argan oil is that it doesn’t matter what kind of hair you have. It can be used on all types. Score!

So, I’ve given you some history on Argan oil and told you a bit about the oil itself, but I still haven’t told you the most important bit of information. How does my hair feel after using it? There’s a reason that Argan oil is referred to as liquid gold. It’s an indispensable product in hair care/maintenance. It’s rich in antioxidants, Omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin E. It promotes shine, gives deep hydration, tackles frizz, helps prevent split ends, seals the cuticle and adds softness and shine. Oh boy, what a mouthful. But does it deliver? Yes, a thousand times yes. My hair has honestly never felt as soft and silky before. It’s less frizzy on top, a hundred times more manageable and looks about ten times healthier than it did before I used it. My only gripe is the screw top. Why isn’t there a pump? It would make my life so much easier. But other than that I can honestly say that I find myself reaching for this oil instead of the Moroccanoil one. Results speak for themselves and my hair has just started a monogamous relationship with INOAR. It’s as simple as that!
