If you’re a loyal Dermalogica fan then you’re probably well aware of these new wipes. But just in case you haven’t heard yet then boy do I have some good news for you. I used Dermalogica’s bestselling PreCleanse for the first time last year and it was most definitely love at first sight. I’ve always loved double cleansing, but never with anything quite like this gem from Dermalogica. Okay, so before I stray too far off topic let me tell you guys about these wipes. I was sent this little pack a while ago and it’s changed my makeup-removing routine for the better. The precleanse that you’ve been using and loving for so long is now in wipe form. This is a helpful travel-friendly little invention for those lazy girls that aren’t too fond of removing their makeup at night. Alright, alright I will stop with the judgy voice and eyes 😉
Each pre-moistened wipe (there are 20) is biodegradable and formulated without artificial fragrances, colours or parabens. Nicely done Dermalogica. These are used before you would normally cleanse and do a superb job of melting away excess oil, dirt, makeup and anything else that builds up on your skin throughout the day. I like to use these wipes as is – no mess, no fuss. But if you’re looking for an ‘ultra’ cleanse you can wet them to create a milky emulsion that can be washed off.
The ingredient list contains among other things Aloe and Apricot oils, Eucalyptus oil, Rice Bran and Vitamin E. I haven’t experienced any breakouts or reactions and I will say that these feel very gentle on my skin. I even use them around my eyes to remove layer 1 of mascara. They contain various oils but don’t leave my face feeling gross or greasy. I also love that my skin doesn’t feel stripped of moisture, but rather quite soft and hydrated.
These nifty little wipes prepare your skin for a deep cleanse, so you really should shake off that laziness and do a proper cleanse after using them. These have no artificial fragrance but they definitely have a distinctive ‘clean’ smell to them. A scent I usually associate with Dermalogica. I’ve been using these pretty much every time I’ve worn a full face of makeup and I’m probably going to shed a few tears when the pack is done. These cleanse like no other face wipe I’ve ever used. There’s a reason these little wipes-o-happiness are R250. I know a lot of you (including me) are on a budget and can’t really justify spending that much on facial wipes. Not when you can get a pack for R40 at Dis-Chem. But for those of you that have tried Dermalogica products I bet you’ll nod along with me when I say you might even forsake your groceries for these.
