Home Office Inspiration with Superbalist

My job as a freelance web/graphic designer comes with many benefits, with one being the ability to decorate my own home office space. I could honestly spend all day on Pinterest creating boards filled with all the décor items that catch my eye. When it comes to my office space I’m drawn to a bright, fun and cute design palette. It’s a room you’re going to spend several hours in and this personal space needs to reflect your personality and at the same time keep you feeling upbeat and motivated. I spent a bit of time this weekend on the Superbalist website (apartment section) and compiled a little wishlist of things I’d love to add to my home office to freshen it up. It’s 2017 and I think it’s time for a change. Don’t you agree?  *wink*.

Urban Decay Blackmail Vice Lipstick Palette + Swatches

If you’re a return reader to my blog then you probably stumbled across (and hopefully read) the post on my favourite beauty items from 2016. No? Well then do yourself a favour and check it out. I featured the Urban Decay Vice lipsticks, because, well, they’re pretty damn awesome. If you don’t own one yet, then you really need to change that. It’s easy to do just that because Urban Decay is now available on the Foschini beauty online store. I have a feeling that Urban Decay quickly realised that nobody could get enough of their addictive Vice lipsticks because they went ahead and created a palette housing 12 unique shades featuring all six finishes – mega matte, comfort matte, cream, metallized, sheer and sheer shimmer. A selection of stunning Vice lipsticks all together in one palette? Yes, please, and thank you.

{I’ve Tried That} ♥ Me & Youth Quick Makeup Fix

Never heard of Me & Youth? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. Well, I’m almost certain you’ve heard of (and possibly tried) Beauty Fix? The well-known brand recently changed their name and aesthetic. I ‘mist’ say (haha) I like the change. The packaging is beautiful and striking – just what a beauty geek like myself looks for in a product. Their ‘Quick Makeup Fix’ (R250) is free from animal testing, synthetic colours, fragrances, parabens, PEGs, ethanolamines, sulphates, mineral oils and silicones.

My 5 Favourite Beauty Bits from 2016

1. Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara

This budget beauty find first made an appearance on my “My Current Favourite Makeup Products” post last year. It’s been a firm favourite since taking up residence inside my makeup bag. This is the blackest black mascara in my ‘collection’. If you’re a fan of thick, full, fluttery lashes then this might be right up your alley. The formula is wet, but dries quickly and does a bang up job of lengthening and curling lashes. At any given time on average I’ll have about three tubes open, but for the past three months I’ve found myself mostly reaching for this one. Check out the post mentioned above for photos and more info. R159.95 at Foschini.
