My Essie Winter Collection Favourites

When I think about Winter time the last thing that comes to mind is dancing. There will be no Jiggling here. Well, that is unless you count the movement of all the extra fat I will undoubtedly acquire during the colder months. But look at me going completely off topic. You are here to see my three favourite shades from Essie’s Winter collection – Jiggle Hi, Jiggle Low. The first word that comes to mind when you take a peek at the six shades is ‘surprising’. This isn’t one of those collections that shouts Winter Time or conquers up images of snowball fights, fluffy sweaters and hot chocolate by the fire. To be completely honest this collection makes me think of Summer and peach daiquiris by the pool. But is that such a bad thing?

Jump in my jumpsuit is the only shade that feels like it belongs in this collection.  You know that IQ question where you choose the odd one out? This is the odd one out. This juicy shade is a beautiful cherry red with a blue undertone. It applies like a dream and has that amazing Essie quality and formula we’ve come to love. I only need one coat to achieve opaque colour and two shades for a rich, glossy finish.

Back in the limo is the prettiest pale peachy melon shade. It’s also the most far removed Winter colour in the collection. So besides the shade the fomrula also sets it apart. It has a sheer formula that requires about three shades to reach a reasonable level of opacity. This one has that jelly consistency and finish that I love and if you’re in the market for a soft, subtle nail polish that could double as your Wedding colour then this is your guy. So before I move onto the next shade just take a second to imagine this manicure wrapped around a cold Peach Daiquiri. Bliss!

Jiggle hi jiggle low – This molten metallic gold shade screams luxury. I see myself sporting this mani while being wrapped in pearls, sipping on champagne and snacking on caviar. It’s gold and glitter, people! Not sold on it yet? The application is phenomenal. It’s brush-stroke free and after two coats you’re golden. How beautiful would this be during Christmas time?

The other three shades from the “Jiggle hi jiggle low” collection are Tuck It In My Tux (silken ivory crème)Bump up the Pumps (raucous coral mauve) and Double Breasted Jacket (passionate tourmaline ruby).

You can find the Essie Winter collection at selected Dis-Chem, Clicks and Foschini stores for R125.
