It’s been a while since I started a new series on the blog so I thought it was about time I did. This new feature is called “Must Have Monday” and will showcase a product I’ve been using and that I think deserves a spot on your must-try list. I’m going to start off this Monday series with the BrushEgg. This nifty little texturized, silicone egg helps to give your makeup brushes a more thorough wash.
I have to admit that I usually dread the task of washing my makeup brushes. Let’s be honest. There isn’t anything fun about it. However, when I received this adorable little mint egg from Senses Beauty Salon I felt a bit of excitement at the thought of brush bath-time. It’s amazing that such a small little thing can change your entire outlook. It makes a tedious chore a lot more enjoyable. I know you’re probably thinking that all you need is a bit of soap and water and your brushes are clean. Well, that’s the way I did it for many years. But after using the BrushEgg I’ve discovered my brushes can actually be a whole lot cleaner.
The ridges and bumps really ‘agitate’ the bristles of your brushes and as you rub your brush against these textured parts it loosens all the dirt and you’ll see all the makeup gunk run right down the drain. I end up using less brush cleanser and I get my brushes clean a lot faster. I don’t know about you, but if something is going to make brush cleaning go faster then I’m all for it. The horizontal ridges/grooves are for your bigger brushes (blush, powder, ect) and the little bumps at the top are for your smaller eye brushes. The BrushEgg doesn’t damage your brushes, builds up a lather quickly and cleans your brushes better than if you just used your fingers.
You can get your hands (or finger) on the BrushEgg over at Senses Beauty Salon for R100. Also, they currently have a great special. If you buy the makeup bullet (read my review) you will get a FREE BrushEgg. Yay! You can take your pick from pink, purple or mint.
