{I’ve Tried That} ♥ Dermaceutic Turn Over Stimulating Night Cream

June 3, 2014

I was recently invited to a blogger meet up to chat to the ladies from Dermaceutic. We snacked on yummy pastries while they let us in on everything we needed to know about the brand. This French, skincare brand was one of the first cosmeceutical companies to develop products that use hyaluronic acid, stabilized vitamin C, and glycolic acid. These ingredients probably sound seriously foreign to most of you. I know that I’ve never heard of glycolic acid. It’s apparently a natural ingredient that’s derived from sugar cane and it’s an AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid). Shew, I guess you learn something new everyday. But in case you don’t know what AHA is then good thing I’m here to let you know. It’s basically an exfoliater and it can also help lighten skin discoloration. Another fun fact is that Dermaceutic is endorsed by over 30,000 doctors and Aestheticians around the world. Okay, okay enough with the lesson. Let’s get on with the good stuff.

I was lucky enough to take home a full size Turn Over Stimulating Night Cream. This baby helps promote skin rejuvenation and reduces the signs of aging. It’s usually recommended to those that want to treat wrinkles, fine lines and skin tone issues. So they basically sum me up in one sentence *Ha, ha*. The active ingredient Glycolic Acid (15%), helps remove dead skin cells. By doing this your skin feels smoother and signs of aging are less visible. You know how some products list certain ingredients on the box but when you read the ingredient list it’s listed right at the bottom? We all know the higher up the ingredient is on the list the more there is of it in the product. Well, Glycolic Acid is the 2nd item on the list after water. Nicely done, Dermaceutic. This cream has a very light consistency and quickly sinks into your skin. It instantly makes your face feel baby soft. This product might feel very lightweight on your skin, but don’t let that fool you. This is some very powerful stuff. If you experience any discomfort or a skin reaction then you need to reduce the frequency of use. But remember that due to the acid content, you might feel a tingling sensation when you use it. This did cause my skin to break out at first as my face is not really used to the awesomeness that is Glycolic Acid, but after that I started only using it every other day and my skin quickly cleared up. The before & after Dermaceutic pics I viewed on the website are incredible. The proof is in the pudding.

Dermaceutic have loads of amazing home care products which have been sectioned off into 6 categories – Purify, Stimulate, Restore, Protect, Prevent and Target. I’ve been trying out the samples above and all these products boast impressive ingredients. I’ve been particularly enjoying the C25 Cream which is an antioxidant day cream that helps boost skin radiance. I’m sick of having dreary looking skin. It packs a punch with a cocktail of Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin B5, Vitamin E and Polyphenols. The last item on that list is naturally found in plants and fruit. It helps combat the action of free radicals and preserves the integrity of the skin’s collagen. So, besides all the home care products, Dermaceutic also offer a line of professional products which include a Mask Peel treatment for acne prone skins and a Milk Peel treatment to brighten up a dull complexion. I’m definitely keen to go try the latter. My dull Winter skin needs a bit of rejuvenation.

The best part about this skincare brand is that they provide luxury products at more reasonable prices. The Turn Over cream has a RRP of R500 (50ml). Also, all their products are Paraben and fragrance free. You can contact Conquest for more info on any of the products I mentioned above.
