Never heard of Me & Youth? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. Well, I’m almost certain you’ve heard of (and possibly tried) Beauty Fix? The well-known brand recently changed their name and aesthetic. I ‘mist’ say (haha) I like the change. The packaging is beautiful and striking – just what a beauty geek like myself looks for in a product. Their ‘Quick Makeup Fix’ (R250) is free from animal testing, synthetic colours, fragrances, parabens, PEGs, ethanolamines, sulphates, mineral oils and silicones.
So, at this point, you might be wondering what exactly this makeup fix spray does. This three-in-one mist offers your skin three benefits. It works as a primer, refiner, and refresher. The great thing about this ‘fix spray’ is that it’s scientifically formulated to feed the skin with a perfect pH balance of 5.5, and is suitable for all skin types. The key ingredients are rosewater, aloe vera extract, and cucumber extract.
I love the fresh, pleasant scent and how it’s a cool, refreshing addition to your makeup routine. I don’t use this spray as a primer, but I do enjoy finishing off my makeup with a fine hydrating mist. This refines my makeup application and magically combats a cakey complexion. I also like to use it to spritz my makeup brushes when applying metallic eyeshadows, to help make them more vibrant. But my favourite use is a ‘beauty hack’ I recently discovered on YouTube. This trick keeps your foundation looking flawless and staying put for longer. When you’ve finished your foundation, generously spray your face with your makeup spray, so your skin is wet (but not saturated), then take your beauty blender and ‘press’ your foundation into your skin. Try it and let me know if you notice a difference in the appearance of your makeup?
