My Essie Summer Collection 2015 Favourites

8

Summer nail collections call for bright, fun colours that conquer up images of the ocean, white sand, daiquiris, ice lollies and colorful beach balls and that’s exactly what the Essie summer collection does. A selection of six cheerful shades that will instantly brighten up your nails and your summer. I’m sharing my three favourites from the collection. The three shades that I think are worth picking up. These colours will definitely make a splash this Summer.

Essie Summer Collection 2015

Pret-a-Surfer – A perfect marine blue that reminds me of the ocean or a cascading infinity pool overlooking the ocean. This crème finish polish applies like an absolute dream. The brush that can be found throughout this collection is magnifique. I’m ridiculously in love with both blues in the collection as well as the thicker brush. This shade is a one coat wonder and offers you a creamy, rich and opaque finish after only one swipe of the (magical) brush. I’ll take two bottles to go, thanks.

Saltwater Happy – If my celeb crush Joseph Gordon Levitt was a nail polish he would be this sugar-sweet Atlantic blue.  I’ve been seriously crushing on this shade and it immediately makes me happy just like when I see Joseph in a movie *giggle*. As you can see both make me a bit silly. I’m letting you guys know that when I finish this bottle I’m going to cry. Ugly cry to be exact. It’s my absolute favourite Essie shade ever. It applies smoothly and one coat is more than enough to achieve an opaque finish. I love how soft and muted the blue is and how it compliments my pale skin like no other polish. I’ve actually raved about this unique shade before (see this post) and I won’t be stopping anytime soon.

Peach Side Babe – Please can we start off by addressing that name. How cute is it? Essie always nail it (‘scuse the pun) when it comes to naming their polishes. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – where can I send in my application for that nail polish naming job? But guess what, I’m also crazy about the colour. What would a summer collection be without a coral shade? A bright peachy/orange crème that needs about two coats to achieve full opacity. The formula applies nice and smoothly and the colour and shine are summer-rific. This will be one of those summer holiday shades that you won’t leave home without. A winner for both paler and darker skin tones.

The Essie Summer 2015 collection is available at selected Dis-Chem, Clicks and Foschini stores. You can pick one up for R125. Tell me, which shade is your favourite?
