dermaceutic advanced cleanser

1. Who doesn’t love a good cleanser? I certainly do. I was recently sent this advanced cleanser from Dermaceutic (R380) and I’m just going to admit it now guys – I’m a sucker for a ‘gimmick” or a product that looks cool or behaves in a very cool way. I’m slightly obsessed with this cleanser’s liquid to mousse consistency as well as its makeup-removing powers.  This one leaves your face feeling soft, clean and refreshed. The formula contains a unique hydrating complex which is supposed to keep skin soft and supple for a more comfortable feeling after cleansing. A few key ingredients include Xylitol (for perfectly hydrated and smoothed skin), Zinc (improves the appearance of oily skin), Urea (optimal moisturizing agent) and Glycerin (removes scales from the skin’s surface). You can get your hands on Dermaceutic products products from Dermaceutic clinics as well as the following stockists.

5 Favourites Friday ♥

1. I have no idea why but for some reason I’ve never tried Inglot makeup. I will admit I’ve noticed their free-standing counters at my local mall and their bright colours and wide array of products have definitely caught my eye. I’m not sure if it was the price but I always only looked from afar. This has obviously changed since trying out some of their makeup for the first time. I walked away with a full set of makeup brushes, a contouring palette and a stunning eye shadow palette (above) when I won “Best Cosmetic” at the South African Beauty Blog awards last month. I’m impressed. Dare I say that the eye shadows are better quality than MAC?  Their shadows contain special silicones and treated pigments. The texture of these shadows is soft and silky and wear time is unbelievable. They don’t crease or fade on me. Needless to say I’ll be stopping by that Inglot counter very soon. These Freedom system, magnetic, eco-friendly reusable palettes are amazing. You can swap and change colours and build your very own palette. It’s a beauty bloggers dream! The empty 10-pan magnetic palette goes for R199 and each individual eye-shadow is R119.

Skin Republic Collagen Infusion #SkinRepublicChallenge

4

I’m all about face masks, especially during Winter time when my skin is in desperate need of extra everything – moisture, brightening and exfoliation. However, sometimes I’m a bit lazy during the colder months and by the time Spring swings around I’m in a panic because my skin is feeling dry, dull and dehydrated. So you can only imagine my excitement when a parcel of Skin Republic Collagen Infusion face masks landed on my doorstep with instructions to take part in the #SkinRepublicChallenge. How can you turn down a challenge? I certainly can’t turn down a beauty challenge.  I used these mask for a full month and I’m here to share my thoughts with you.

{I’ve Tried That} LCN Hand & Body Sorbet

4

When Spring and Summer swing around I always find myself reaching for light, fruity fragranced body products, be it body wash, hand wash, lip balms or hand creams I’m all about juicy fruits. When this LCN hand & body sorbet duo arrived on my doorstep I was immediately drawn in by the packaging. Bold, bright and fun. Those three words basically sum up Summer for me, unlike Winter where moody, lazy and dull are the words that come to mind.

The packaging alone lets you know upfront that these are juicy, fruity sorbets that most likely smell divine. Oh boy they really do. I kind of wish their scents were a bit more ‘authentic’ or true to life but regardless they smell delicious. The watermelon sorbet is my favourite – it smells very fresh with an almost light, cucumber scent to it. The pomegranate one however has a sweeter, candy scent.

The most important thing to mention is the amazing texture and consistency of these LCN  hand sorbets. Think light, creamy, whipped and almost mousse-like. They glide on and melt quickly into your skin. They feel incredibly silky on your hands and body. A fruity dessert for your skin. I don’t usually review hand creams but I was so impressed with the soft, fast-absorbing formula I couldn’t resist. They contain Shea Butter as well as Vitamin E which both contribute to the silky, moisturised feeling you are left with. These two lotions also leave a very fine shimmer on your skin. It’s actually more of a ‘healthy glow’ with a hint of sparkle. R220 each at selected salons (see full list here). You can also purchase some LCN products from here or check out their Facebook page.
