The Body Shop Oils of Life

5

The Body Shop ‘Oils of Life’ range recently launched in South Africa and I was lucky enough to try a few of the products out before they hit the shelves. I’m a huge fan of oil-based skincare products and I think it’s only fair that I start off by complimenting the packaging of this new range. The Body Shop have definitely undergone a bit of a re-branding and I’m loving it. The Oils of Life range showcases simple, but luxurious looking bottles and tubs. The range is advertised as being infused with three precious seed oils – black cumin (from Egypt), camellia seeds (from China) and rosehip seed oil (from Chile). As you can imagine this makes for beautifully fragranced and highly sensorial oils and creams. Black cumin seed oil is known for its concentration in antioxidants, Rosehip seed oil is rich in omega 3, and Camellia seed oil is naturally rich in nutritive oleic acid.

BABOR Beauty Spa Waterkloof

4

I’m not going to lie. As a beauty blogger there are certain emails that arrive in your inbox that excite you more than others. The email I recently received from BABOR was one of those that instantly put a smile on my face. The email outlined an opportunity to experience a facial at the new BABOR beauty spa in Waterkloof, Pretoria. I must add that the last part excited me the most. As a Pretoria girl I’m always driving/Gautraining to events in Johannesburg. I readily accepted the invitation and last week I arrived at the BABOR spa ready to indulge in a morning of pampering with my favourite skincare brand.

5 Favourites Friday ♥

1. Take a look at any “beauty guru” over on YouTube and you’ll sit there watching them apply their makeup with at least one Real Techniques makeup brush. These brushes have a cult following, and with good reason I might add. The quality usually surpasses the price and that’s why RT brushes fly off the shelves. I only own one Real Techniques brush and I love that little thing as much as a mother loves her first born child. Okay, perhaps not that much, but you get the idea *wink*. Thanks to my friend Ali (Seams & Silhouettes), I’ve now added a second (beautiful) Real Techniques brush to my collection. Have you spotted the luxurious (slightly more expensive) Bold Metals collection over at selected Clicks/Foschini stores? These magical metal tools sport long, elegant, weighted handles and unbelievably soft bristles. My brush, the Oval shadow eye brush is large and fluffy and works perfectly for all over lid application or for blending out shadows. R300 on Takealot

Africology Slimming Detox & Renewal Body Glow

1

Are you familiar with the Africology brand? I have to (embarrassingly) admit that I’d never tried any of their products before. I was acquainted with their name but to be honest I didn’t know much about them until an email appeared in my inbox recently. The thing I was the most impressed by was the fact that their humble beginnings started in a kitchen in Johannesburg. Fast forward to present day and Africology is now considered as one of the leading natural, eco-friendly and holistic spa and skincare companies in South Africa. However, their success has gone beyond South Africa’s borders and the brand is now available across the World, including Belgium, France, UK, USA, Turkey and Scandinavia. All Africology products are fragranced with only pure essential oils and all products are 100% natural and bio-degradable which benefits your body and mind as well as the environment.
