How do you store your makeup? Before I was lucky enough to get my hands on this beautiful 27Pinkx acrylic storage unit I used old rubyboxes and those cheap plastic drawer sets from Plastic Land. But those sets are so small and narrow and don’t hold a lot of makeup. Can anyone say ‘First World Problems’? As we all know I’m a beauty blogger and clearly a bit beauty obsessed, so my makeup hoarding is obviously on another level. *blush*.

The mini organiser is made from 4mm Perspex with a width of 300mm and height of 210mm. This clear, heaven-sent organiser might be referred to as the ‘Mini’ but there’s certainly nothing mini about the amount of makeup you can actually store in it. I love the transparency that this type of storage offers. I spent money on my makeup so gosh darnit I want it to be visible. It also makes it a lot easier to find what you’re looking for. The ‘Mini’ goes for R1,200 but there are also a few other sizes and shapes available. A Luxury one (R1,800) for those with endless makeup and even lipstick stands (R390), which look beautiful when placed on top as an extra layer to your organiser.

I mentioned these pretty pink makeup brushes in a previous 5 Favourites Friday post seeing as any makeup product that has pink ‘packaging’ is a match made in heaven to me. A set of 10 brushes with 5 being synthetic (black) and the other 5 being natural and made of pony hair (white). Both types are silky soft and non-scratchy. Did you know that Pony hair is a good choice for brush hair as it’s strong and durable and works well for powder makeup application. The synthetic brushes work better for liquid-based products as nylon is less absorbent than natural hair fibers. After using the set for a few weeks now I can safely report back and say these are a fantastic budget-friendly option if you’re looking for some new brushes. Consider this – a set of 10 brushes is only going to set you back R420 but one brush at MAC is roughly the same price. You might think your makeup looks fine when you apply it using one of those dreadful applicators that come with most eyeshadow palettes but trust me when I honestly tell you that you could look so much better if you just had the right tools. This set has all the necessary eye and face brushes an everyday girl would need.

I did experience a bit of shedding with the pony-haired brushes when I first started using them, but that decreased after a few uses and washes. One of my favourites in the set is the fluffy blending brush (blends, blends and blends like a dream) I’ve been reaching for it as much as I do for my MAC 217 brush. I also love the soft blush and powder brushes.

A must in any girls makeup collection are a few neutral matte colours. These are the absolute best for blending out a smokey look or defining your crease. That’s one of the reasons I have so much love for this ‘naughty nudes’ palette. There are 5 matte, and 5 shimmer shades that harmoniously pair to create various looks. The stunning shimmers and the truly matte mattes glide on effortlessly and offer high-pigment.  Overall, I like the texture of these shadows as they’re all quite smooth and easy to work with despite experiencing a bit of fallout.

Take a look at the 27Pinkx website as they serve up a variety of products. Besides their own makeup range (which also includes stunning lip & cheek palettes ) they have various products from Benefit, Too Faced, Konjac and Ciaté. But the pièce de résistance would have to be the luxe lighted vanity stand. Oooh, Aaah! An important thing to note is that their products are cruelty free and they offer free delivery throughout South Africa
