12 Wishes Of Lipgloss KISSmas ❄ Day 4 – Wild Wonderland

December 9, 2014

Wet n Wild are by far one of my favourite budget beauty brands. I’ve tried several of their products and I’ve definitely raved about their eyeshadow palettes many times before. This is also a brand that I constantly see YouTube Beauty Gurus use in videos. One thing I’m sure we can agree on when it comes to the Festive season and all the parties we’re bound to attend is that we all need to add a bit of colour to our faces. Be it a smokey eye, winged liner or a red lip. I’m here to let you guys know what to use if you’re on a beauty budget. Just think of me as Santa’s little helper…

I think it’s only fitting that I start off with my favourite Wet n Wild product – The Wet n Wild Color Icon Palette in Comfort Zone. This 8-pan colour palette is every bit as beautiful as it looks. If you’re looking for a neutral, earth-toned smokey eye then look no further than this palette. These shades are perfect for a subtle Christmas day look or even for a heavy smokey New Years Eve look. These shadows are described as pearl and definitely offer shimmer, shine and satiny finishes. No matte shades here. The textures are buttery soft, silky and highly pigmented. It’s almost unbelievable how great the quality is of this 8-pan palette.

You can pick this palette up at Clicks for R89.95. Guys, that’s only R11 per eyeshadow. Just take a peek at the swatches down below and you can see for yourself how beautiful this palette is. The shades are all very blendable and last for a good few hours. My favourite shades are #1 (warm frosted beige), #2 (frosted copper) and #3 (warm golden brown). Also, we need to take a moment to appreciate the striking #8, a red-brown topped with a frosted teal duo chrome. So besides being great quality the Wet n Wild palettes are also super nifty for beginners. They guide you right there on the actual shadows. The back of the palette also offers you 4 different makeup looks. Nice! I think it’s clear that you are sorted for festive celebrations and all the while on a budget.

The Wet n Wild H2O Proof Liquid Eyeliner is another makeup item that absolutely every girl needs in her beauty bag. If you love a winged liner then look no further than this liquid liner. The felt tip is slightly firmer than you would expect and I love it. You have more control over where the product goes and we all know that liquid liner can sense your fear so even just an ounce of control makes the world of difference. Okay, so easy application gets a tick, but we can also add long-wear to that list. This waterproof liner is just that. I’ll be honest I even struggle (a bit) to remove this at night. The first thing I noticed about the Wet ‘n’ Wild Color Icon Brow & Eyeliner was the length. This pencil is longer than any other eye pencils I’ve used before. I definitely think it’s even too big to fit in my makeup bag. However, can you say extra bang for your buck?  The consistency is creamy and glides on smoothly. I’ve been using this on my waterline and the colour payoff is intense and surprisingly long-lasting. But the best thing for me is the fact that it feels very soft and gentle on my eyes. I’ve used ‘hard’ kohl liners before that tug, feel dry and basically leave me with sore, red eyes. Ouch! R34,95 at Clicks.

You guys know I’m a sucker for balm stains and chubby sticks. Forget lipsticks in a bullet, it’s all about the chubby stick. Enter stage left – Wet ‘n’ Wild Megaslicks Balm Stain. These offer smooth, nicely pigmented colour. They feel very moisturising on your lips but the formula is a lot ‘thinner’ and not as pigmented as other lip crayons like the Revlon Balm Stains. The shade I’ve been using is a gorgeous neutral red that leaves your lips with a pretty shine. The colour is very buildable and application is super smooth. As far as ‘staining’ goes there is definitely a bit of residue after most of the colour has faded. These twist-up pencils are really not bad for the price and I would absolutely consider picking up a few more shades. Plus, they’re only R49.95 and this shade is perfect to rock on Christmas day.

What would the festive season be without some glitter? If you’re not wearing it on your eyelids then you definitely need to be wearing it on your nails. The Wet n Wild Mega Rocks Glitter Nail Polishes are made up of chunky hexagonal glitter in a clear polish that dries nice and smoothly. These topper polishes look gorgeous when worn over a solid colour and it takes about 3 coats to achieve this clustered look. There are a few colorful shades available and if you’re a girl that loves her glitter then these are an absolute must at only R59.95.
